I have been using a Fujifilm X100 series cameras since 2011 and I thought it might be worth looking back at my journey with this brilliant mirrorless-camera range from the Fujifilm X100 through to the X100S and the X100T and most recently my hands on experience with the X100F.
The move from DSLR over to the Fujifilm X100 for stills, involved a bit of a learning curve, it took time to familiarise myself with the quirky X100 but I was hooked, I loved it and I firmly believe the process of using the X100 helped me develop as a photographer. Check out the new guide on ‘Understanding Depth of Field‘ or how to shoot Long Exposure with the X100.
Within a few months Fujifilm released a series of firmware upgrades and the X100 was getting better and better. The release of the X100S brought a massive performance boost and two generations later the X100T has matured into a powerful little image maker that can literally go anywhere and everywhere. The X100 series has gained a permanent place on my gear list and I currently take the X100T camera everywhere with my little Pixi tripod and Lee filter kit.
This post demonstrates the versatility of the X100 series, it offers the ultimate in portability that makes it perfect for documentary photography; the X100,X100S,X100T, X100F is capable of capturing stunning images from landscapes through to high definition portraits. Getting the most out of the X100 series. Also check out the range of Lightroom presets designed for the X series cameras here.
The following X100, X100S and X100T, X100F images are embedded from my flickr account so click on an image to view it large on flickr.com. There are some additional X100 - X100F links at the end of the post.

Hi, David, thank you for the “timeline” trip down memory lane. Quite a few old friends among the delightful pix. Best Wishes for the coming year, Steve
These photos are amazing… I however have a fondness for #1 as you can see in my photo below it was one of my first photos with the x100 as well. It was the camera that got me to swap into the Fuji system, still working to get my hands on another one soon. Great photos and enjoy your travels!
5.The Brilliant Jim Broadbent - How were you able to get this photo so shiny? 47 might have it as well. The other b/w don’t.
Thanks in advance.
I don’t know, I just captured Jim as I saw him following a conversation, he was relaxed, a gentleman and that’s what I aimed to capture rather than what I saw.
These incredible photographs are truly….art. I just bought myself a Fujifilm X100s as a 40th birthday present to myself, and I’m so glad I did.
