Last week we made our way up to Hare’s Gap in the Mournes. During the post production of the X100s RAW / RAF images I created a Lightroom preset to add a massive amount of rugged drama to the image.

The Lightroom preset is deliberately extreme with the idea that the photographer will work back to create the desired look. The preset also contains graduated filters that can be adjusted manually to control the harshness of the sky. For further adjustment of the drama I would also advise looking at both the clarity, shadow and black controls.

Using this Lightroom Preset directly is probably going to be too dramatic for some tastes but adjustments to the level of drama can be easily controlled. The image below shows the preset in use.
