Into the Sun

Despite a full day of taking photographs on Saturday I was permitted to bring the camera on a Sunday walk along what is normally a particularly quite beach.

The sun was low and it was late afternoon by the time we arrived. With the Mourne Mountains in the distance we headed along the beach into the sun.

Shooting into the sun made for some interesting effects and fortunately I hadn’t removed the ND9 filter from the lens.

The ND9 really enhances the colours especially in the sky. The EF17-40 offers amazing range although was a little slow as the light began to drop.

As we made our way back the near silent beach was invaded by the sound of horses. You can see a larger version with the horses on flickr here.
