Amy Grant launched her first album in 1977 and from then has enjoyed a phenomenal music career she is contemporary Christian music’s first major crossover success.

Amy’s career (to date) has earned her three multiplatinum albums, six other platinum albums and four more gold albums; scored 10 Top 40 pop singles and 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks as well as a string of Contemporary Christian chart-toppers, and won six Grammy Awards plus numerous Dove Awards.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

With such a string of awards it goes without saying that Amy Grant is one of the most successful Christian recording artists of all time and last night she brought an acoustic version of music to Glenmachan Church, Belfast as part of a three stop European tour.

I was speaking to a number of the audience who had attended the sound check and the common theme was just how sincere and down to earth Amy Grant despite her success.

Amy has a great sense of humour remarking that “Many of you are hear as you have made a connection with one of my songs. Some are wives or girlfriends who have made a connection so some of you are here as you have been dragged along”.

From the laughter Amy definitely made a connection with aforementioned section of the audience who, I have no doubt enjoyed themselves whether they care to admit or not. I know I did.
