Summer Flight Path

Summer Flight Path

May 9, 2010  |  Macro  |

There is something about sunny days that make me want to reach for the macro lens. Today I spent twenty minutes running around my garden in pursuit of a hover fly.

These insects can move fast seemingly jumping to a new position the very second I managed to get it in focus. It is great to see the figure of eight the wings make on flight caught in a single frame. I guess this hover fly doesn’t have to worry about volcanic ash.
