Despite being late for an appointment I had to stop and take a few photographs of the flog along the river Lagan this morning. The mix of snow and fog created a very desolate view, cold, barren and even slightly eerie.
The Lagan can be seen in the foreground with the famous Maze Race Course running along in the background. What I like about the photo is the fact I seem to be able to see further into the distance on a fog filled morning than on a day with perfect visibility.

I have so much to learn about aperture, lens and how and when to use them. This photo was taken with a 15-38 f3.5-5.6 with the best photo quality being at the lower aperture end for some reason.

I am beginning to think this isn’t really a general purpose lens but one more geared for landscapes, perhaps the pros could offer an insight. This lens does give spectacular detail to landscape photographs although it takes more than a passing glance to see it.
I have put two more photos from this morning on to flickr, two more as I actually only took three. The first is a little warmer than the photo above and the second is a close up photo of the snow rather than a traditional landscape.
Anyway, all critique very welcome.
Beautiful image. It is like a short story in a photograph. I love that about images. There is context and subtext and tension and release. Would be amazing framed large.
