A few weeks ago I received a call from a friend embarking on directing a short film set in Belfast. Unfortunately his still photographer had pulled out at the last minute and after phoning every photographer he knew, left with no other choice he gave me the call.
Excited and flattered, I nervously took up the mantle as still photographer on what is stunning piece of work written and directed by Phil Harrison.
Arriving on set I really wasn’t sure what to expect, out of my depth, I was thrown into nervous turmoil when the first person I was introduced to was none other than Cherrybomb (out April 23rd) director Lisa Barros D’Sa.

The film is entitled ‘Even Gods’ a short by Canderblinks/Manifesto Films telling the story of Hughie, a former alcoholic and long-time joker, who meets his estranged daughter for the first time in over a decade.
Written and directed by Phil Harrison the film stars Lalor Roddy (Hunger, Cherrybomb, Scapegoat to name just a few of his films) a remarkable actor whose performance was absolutely gripping. Acting alongside Paul Caddell the scenes were realism personified.
I have seen some very moving films but it was surreal to watch the scenes being captured, the performances were gripping, believable to the point I could hardly breath as each take was shot.
The film is in the post production stage but you can keep up with developments via the Facebook Group.
lovely shots
Nice portrait shots, very stylish.
What a great opportunity as well.
I love these shots and the story. There is a “hauntedness” to each character that comes through in the pictures. Great job!
